Santa Lucia Beach in the center of Cuba's north coast is snorkeler’s paradise! Santa Lucia de Cuba is situated on the northern coast of Camaguey Province, in central-eastern Cuba, Central America. The city, which lies around 500 km from Havana, owns the world’s largest coral barrier reef.
The city is characterized by a mild tropical climate. The trade winds blow almost all year round, making the climate wonderfully pleasant. December and January are the best months to visit.
Founded by the Spanish in 1514, as Santa María del Puerto del Principe, Santa Lucia in its plazas, churches, stately mansions and concurrent streets of unique design, sustains centuries of tradition and history.
Tourism is the main source of income in Santa Lucia de Cuba. The region is an upcoming tourist resort and features excellent accommodation, providing facilities including restaurants, discotheques, and shopping.
